Hi and welcome to our little crafting blog. We are three sweet Southern women; a mother (Mary Ellen), a daughter (Jamie), and a daughter-in-law (Mary). I think that all three of us have always been crafty in some way or another but it's really become a big part of our lives in the last year or so. Mary Ellen has recently become addicted to crafting blogs...she can spend hours looking at all the fun things the internet can show you. She has also just retired after 21 years at the same job and she's already bought a new sewing machine. Mary gets paid for part-time work from home, but her real job is being a mom to three adorable kids (Emma Grace, Elliot, and Maggie). She sews, knits, and does hand-smocking and embroidery (and probably more!). Plus, she is one of the best cooks in the family!
I'm Jamie and I'm a government attorney by day and fierce knitter by night. I'm also learning how to sew and crochet...with quilting somewhere on the radar. I'm currently tackling the creation of an Easter outfit. I already had the blouse; I'm sewing a skirt and knitting a cropped cardigan to go with it (photos to come next week). I'm also in the process of decorating my apartment using what I already have on hand, things I find from Freecycle or purchase at thrift stores and yard sales. I'll have a blog for that too, but it's still a work in progress.
I'll let Mom and Mary tell you a little more about themselves and their crafts. Hang in there with us while we learn to do this blog-thing.
